TRAETH BYCHAN
Traeth Bychan is on the east coast of Anglesey. The 1:50000 O.S. map for this area is sheet 114 (Anglesey) and
the grid reference for the locality is SH 517840. The BGS map sheet to refer to for this locality is the Anglesey
sheet.
At Traeth Bychan there are limestones of Lower Carboniferous age that have been intruded by a small Tertiary
dolerite dyke. This gallery includes photographs illustrating the fossils and types of bedding preserved in the
limestones. It also includes photographs showing the relationship between the basic intrusion and the layers
of sedimentary rock at Traeth Bychan.
